100 years of Human-Machine-Interface by Mercedes

January 12, 2020

Lazy Sunday today and what is better than watching the CES 2020 keynote by Ola Källenius.

Before his speech they showed a video with the evolution of HMI, I loved it so I thought to share.

Thought leadership keynote, some of my notes:

-it is 2020 and we were expecting flying cars by now, but we are not there yet

-opportunities for the next decade: connectivity potential, the bond of human and machine, interfaces, smart home integration

-offer opportunities to the customer (features), but don’t get lost in complexity (my favourite!)

-connecting technology and nature -global demand for individual mobility will increase, people like the individual freedom

-fewer cars are not the solution, better cars are

-decoupling volume growth with resource consumption

-HUMANS-NATURE-TECHNOLOGY

The Daimler Futurologist Alexander Mankowsky talked about the future of technology and sustainability -Model of sustainability and the Gaia Hypothesis (James Lovelock) -Meaningful technology should connect us to nature, we are part of nature -Emphasis on the importance to connect with the biosphere
