On-road eye tracking analysis with the Volvo XC60. This is my visual attention when I am driving and changing radio station with the Volvo XC60 touchscreen.
Not as good as the BMW iDrive, but the eyes-off-road-time is 50% less in relation to the BMW and Mercedes touchscreen. It shows the imprortance of designing, and testing, for the specific interaface not just replicating what works well in other modalities.
I can’t wait to see how Volvo’s (and Polestar’s) new interaction model works on the 11’’ portrait touchscreen with Android. I hope my friends at Volvo will give me early access so I can test it and share the results.
